Brendan Halpin

Brendan Halpin, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Limerick, was in Lausanne from in April 2019 as part of the LIVES VIP invitation program. Brendan Halpin is a specialist in stratification and social mobility, as well as in the job market. He is also working in the area of missing data processing.

Tim Liao

Prof. Tim Liao, Head of the Sociology department from the University of Illinois, visited NCCR LIVES in October 2019 through the Visiting Scholar Invitation Programme (VIP). His research is focused on the use of sequence analysis for the study of cumulative disadvantage over the life course. His work has especially adressed the degree of linked lives, mainly in family dyads and triads.

Bram Vanhoutte

The NCCR LIVES was pleased to welcome Bram Vanhoutte, research fellow at the University of Manchester, who stayed with LIVES from April 9 to May 7, 2018 thanks to the Visiting Scholar Invitation Programme. Bram's research addresses the heterogeneous experiences in ageing from an interdisciplinary perspective, bridging psychological, sociological and medical perspectives.
